How to Single Crochet

Single crochet (sc) is the sturdy, tightly-woven stitch you'll use in almost every crochet pattern, from dishcloths to amigurumi. Once you've got the chain stitch down, single crochet is the next skill to master.

Steps:

1. Make a foundation chain of any length, plus one extra chain.
2. Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook.
3. Yarn over and pull through, so you have two loops on your hook.
4. Yarn over again and pull through both loops. That's one single crochet!
5. Insert your hook into the next chain and repeat.
