Glossary
- Gauge
- The number of stitches and rows in a 4 inch / 10 cm square. It determines finished size.
- Swatch
- A small sample you crochet before starting a project to check gauge and drape.
- Frogging
- Ripping out stitches because you made a mistake. Rip-it, rip-it.
- Yarn over
- Wrapping the working yarn over the hook.
- Tension
- How tightly or loosely you hold the yarn while crocheting.
- Blocking
- Wetting or steaming a finished piece and pinning it into shape.
